Presented by Claudia Ocampo, LPC-S, RPT-S™, Approved EMDR Consultant
Learning Objectives
This training will explore the integration of parts of self (IFS) with play therapy to support clients in understanding and healing their inner world.
Participants will learn how to use play-based techniques such as sandtray and collage to help clients access and work with their "parts" in a non-threatening and developmentally appropriate way as they connect with Self energy.
The training will focus on how to guide clients in recognizing their inner parts, nurturing self-compassion and fostering emotional regulation. Attendees will leave with practical tools to help clients externalize, understand, and integrate different aspects of themselves for deeper therapeutic healing
Training Objectives
Incorporate the therapeutic powers of play to help clients access their Self and develop a compassionate relationship with their parts.
Identify and explain the different parts of the self (Exiles, Managers, & Firefighters) within the IFS model and their roles in client’s development and behavior using images in sandtray and/or collage.
Integrate expressive arts techniques within play therapy to help clients express their world and communicate the emotions and needs of their internal parts.
Apply play therapy techniques that effectively externalize and engage a client’s parts of self, using tools such as collage, sand tray, and creative expression.
Develop playful and creative interventions tailored to each client’s developmental level, ensuring they can explore their inner system in a safe and playful manner that fosters emotional insight and regulation.
Recognize the therapeutic potential of creative play as a window into a client’s internal system, allowing for deeper insight into their parts and emotional conflicts.
Utilize play therapy’s creative approaches (sandtray and collage) to explore The Six 6 F’s of IFS: Find, Focus, Feel Towards, beFriend, Flesh Out and Fears.
Practice using playful interventions the process of "Self-Leadership,” guiding clients in accessing the core Self attributes of Compassion, Connectedness, Curiosity, Calmness, Confidence, Courage, Creativity, and Clarity to nurture and harmonize their inner system.
