Presented by Kaylyn Evans, MA, LPC, RPT™, NCC

Learning Objectives

Are you interested in play therapy, but unsure where to begin? This course is designed to introduce clinicians to play therapy.

Play therapy is an evidenced-based practice that can be defined as “the systematic use of a theoretical model to establish an interpersonal process wherein trained Play Therapists use the therapeutic powers of play to help clients prevent or resolve psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development."

In this course, you will learn the how and why behind play therapy and begin to understand different theories for engaging in play therapy.

Training Objectives

In this self-guided presentation on play therapy, you'll learn and be able to:

  • Describe play therapy as an evidence-based practice.

  • Discuss the therapeutic powers of play therapy.

  • Compare different historical theoretical orientations, including CCPT, CBPT, Adlerian and Gestalt.

  • Better understand how it can be important and useful to create a playful and engaging approach with play therapy.
