In this hybrid in-person / live virtual workshop for parents and caregivers, you will:

  • Identify and learn how to set appropriate screen time limits for children based on individual family considerations

  • Demonstrate the ability to create screen-free zones within your homes, fostering spaces that encourage offline activities and quality family time

  • Develop strategies for effective communication with children regarding screen time, ensuring open dialogue and mutual understanding about media use and its impact on well-being

  • Design a personalized screen time plan to implement after the workshop

Presented by

Rachel Esparza, LPC

At Texas State University, Rachel earned her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling (CACREP Accredited Program) and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Her approach to counseling establishes relational conditions that guide clients to improve their self-awareness, reach their goals, and meet their needs. She emphasizes empathic understanding and unconditional positive regard in her counseling relationships.

In individual and group settings, Rachel supports families who are struggling with emotional regulation and externalizing behaviors (tantrums, big emotions), are interested in developing healthy relationships, and want to understand the role the brain plays in behavior and emotions.

Good to Know

This is a live hybrid training taking place in-person and live online via Zoom. 

Participants will only be able to attend for the location they are registered for (eg. will not be able to switch between in-person or online after registration).

This training will not be recorded.

For in-person attendees, please dress comfortably, bring a water bottle, snacks, and anything else you need to feel comfortable in a classroom setting for the duration of our training.
