Are you interested in play therapy, but unsure where to begin? This course is designed to introduce clinicians to play therapy. 

Play therapy is an evidenced-based practice that can be defined as “the systematic use of a theoretical model to establish an interpersonal process wherein trained Play Therapists use the therapeutic powers of play to help clients prevent or resolve psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development."

In this course, you will learn the how and why behind play therapy and begin to understand different theories for engaging in play therapy.

Kaylyn Evans is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Registered Play Therapist™ (RPT™) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).

She earned her Bachelor’s Degree at Southwestern University in Biology and Psychology and her Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling at Texas State University. Kaylyn has specialty training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidence-based therapy for families of children with big behaviors and diagnoses such as Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD).

Her goal is to provide trauma-informed, anti-racist, and LGBTQIA+ affirming counseling at all times. Kaylyn has experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a variety of settings, including elementary school and community agencies.

Good to Know

This is a pre-recorded, self-directed online training. You will receive a login into our online course portal to begin the training on enrollment.

This training will provide 1.5 non-contact CE's and is designated as a "recorded webinar."

To receive CE's, participants must attend the full presentation and complete the post-presentation assessment and evaluation.

Ensemble Therapy is an Approved Provider for the Association for Play Therapy (APT), Approved Provider 23-706. Ensemble Therapy is an approved provider endorsed by an international organization and therefore trainings quality for the 50% CEs mandated by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC) for LPC and LMFT. Play Therapy credit is available to mental health professionals and graduate students in a mental health program.

It is the responsibility of the attendee to verify whether CE credit offered by the Ensemble Learning Center meets the regulations of the participant’s licensing/certification board.
